The agency’s service starting with Andrew in the business office, Karen who matched my mother very well with caregivers to Shelby and Rachel, the schedulers, are exceptional professionals who take great pride in quality service. My mother’s morning caregiver Zena is beyond remarkable, she even gave all her clients holiday gifts, she’s always cheerful and has my mom engaged with so many activities like painting and aerobics. The part time weekend caregiver Gene has been a positive support as well as she joins my mother on weekends and she reminds my mother of her retired friends and attends our family events. Our family has been using their services for quite a few years now, and we’ve always been impressed by the quality of people they send to help with my father, who has Alzheimer’s and needs help with pretty much everything.
Currently we have Deliyah, who has been with us for quite a while now, and I can’t describe what a relief it is to have someone working with my dad that we can trust and that he feels comfortable with.
Laura has been the largest delightful addition to our lives. She embodies ‘Going Above & Beyond’. She takes an honest interest in my father, David Blake’s, life, concerns, and preferences. She has brought my father out of his reserved shell. She is instrumental in getting Dad out on the town and to doctor appointments. It is rare that our comfort levels allow for advocating these tasks. Laura is kind, soft-spoken, and thoughtful. She is 100% and always consistently competent.
I am so thankful to everyone at FirstLight Home Care for the support and care that was given to my mother, Barbara, during her last few months of life. We were matched up with our amazing caregiver Cynthia. I do not have the words to express how wonderful Cynthia was with my mother. She was caring, professional and accommodating, making sure my mother was comfortable and well taken care of. It was a great relief for me to be able to go to work and not have to worry about my mother receiving great care while I was gone.
I was skeptical beginning care because I had bad experiences with other agencies but after having surgery I knew I needed help, fortunately, they gave me Eleanor. She arrives early to every shift, with a positive attitude and a willingness to help me with anything. I never felt like a “client”, she treated me like a friend with love and empathy. She goes above and beyond, like taking my dog on long walks, I don’t have to remind her to do things, she created a schedule for me to follow for my medications as well as her own cleaning schedule that she maintained perfectly. I am thankful for all she does, and helps me physically and emotionally.
My sister Kathy and I would like to start out thanking Andrew who was great to work with pertaining to anything financial, Karen and Shelby were wonderful with the whole process of finding the perfect person to take care of our mother and we would also like to thank our mother’s caregiver, Ruth. Our mother really enjoyed having Ruth who not only cared for her but she also sat and listened to her. We never worried about leaving her to run any errands. We feel very comfortable recommending FirstLight to anyone looking for a company to provide great home care for their loved one. First light has been a Godsend for us. Our caregiver Sharon is skilled and very attentive to my husband’s needs who has ALS. She loves her job and loves her clients.
First Light Home Care has provided me with 3 caregivers for 7 nights. Heather is the one I’m reviewing now. She does Tuesdays and Thursdays. She is very punctual and I can always rely on her to be here when needed. Heather is not only very punctual but very reliable as far as caregiving goes. She has a good memory and asks me if I’ve fallen recently and as I share with her my answer, she empathizes with my plight.
First Light works hard to make sure my brother has the care he needs. Goes above and beyond to make sure his shifts are covered. His care giver Sharon Harrington picks up any shifts she can to make sure my brother is taken care of. Her infectious energy always makes her time with us such a joy.
My home caregiver, Kendra, has been a wonderful help to me. She gets here on time and immediately starts to work on her basic routine of what she knows I need done. She does an excellent job, and goes above and beyond by doing whatever else she sees that needs to be done.
She is a delight to be around, and I look forward to her a arrival. She immediately lifts my spirits. Kendra is a lovely, compassionate, thoughtful, and kind person.
