David and Lily own and manage this business and they are excellent at what they do. Patient and experienced they met me where I was — eager to find home health care for my dear octogenarian pal — but a little naive as to what was out … More there in the industry. It was not a worry as after 1 call to FirstLight David came to my friend's apartment and assessed her individually, getting to know her needs, tastes and preferences. Within 48 hours he sent over 2 candidates and we hired them and were relieved that they they worked out well (eventually we maybe had 4 women to share the week). Every single person was easy-to-train and seemed eager to work with me and my friend, making the daily care journey more like friends-helping-friends than simply people looking for just a paycheck. In general the aides were great and helped my dear friend with mobility and daily self-care activities, light cooking and cleaning her apartment, and medication administration and logging activity in a book. They were on-time, we had constant coverage and I came to trust them implicitly. From an administrative standpoint FirstLight was also good on the back-end with accurate invoicing and day-and-night customer service. No problem was every too small, David treated me like he had known me forever from Day 1 and his wife played a huge part my client relationship with the company and I could see was crucial in helping David run a top-notch company. I truly can't say enough about FirstLight Home Care of NYC and strongly recommend you include this company in any interviewing you are about to do to set up home care for a loved one in the NYC area.
