First light Home Care in Scranton has been a blessing to our family. I live in another state, but their care and dedication has enabled my 100 year old father to remain in his home. All the caregivers have been kind, caring, and devoted to my father. They are dependable. We never have “no show” issues. The owners Pete and Noeleen are great about communicating any changes in scheduling, or concerns about the client in general, and make useful suggestions. They don’t use an answering service, so you will always reach the owners, or an employee when you call. I am an RN, and have high expectations of caregivers. First Light goes the extra mile everyday. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
The owners and staff of First Light have been amazing these past two years of service. They helped bring us through some tough times by being empathetic, professional, and going above and beyond. We will always be thankful for all they have done.

I cannot express enough my genuine gratitude for all the loving care that the owners Peter & Noeleen Tomasi and their carefully selected caregivers that look after my 77 year old mother who suffers from dementia. I live 4 hours away by car and being able to keep my Mom in her home where she prefers to stay for now, living independently with dignity is a blessing. Her wonderful caregivers come by daily for 3-4 hours on a typical visit to help her with medical appointments, errands, make sure she eats, takes her pills and also take her out in the community for some fun outings to take in a movie or for a bite to eat. Peter and Noeleen really care about my Mom and they work hard every day to make sure she is comfortable and well looked after and they update me all the time with her day to day status. The stress of an elderly parent diagnosed with dementia is truly overwhelming. Peter and Noeleen have done such an amazing job in helping me personally navigate this new responsibility and I truly don’t know what I would do without them. It goes without saying that I highly recommend them to anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation who is seeking care for a loved one in need. They are 5 stars across the board!!
This company has a group of outstanding caregivers. They have been working with my family for several years now 3 days a week and recently provided 24 hour care services for us for several weeks. They still maintained a professional staff and were instrumental in working through the transition of one of our parents to a care facility. They continue to care for the other parent in his home. We highly recommend this firm and will continue to utilize their services.
First Light was great in helping us keep our mom in her home as long as possible. When we needed extra days they were great getting someone in to help out. Our caregiver Sarah was kind and helpful to our mom. She ran errands, did light cleaning or just sat with mom and talked to keep her company. Living 2 hours away we had peace of mind knowing someone was looking in on our 95 year old mother. So thankful for all they did!!
FirstLight SCRANTON headed by Peter Tomasi has given my 91 year old mother genuinely benevolent. Care from the outset of their engagement. My mother adores her caregivers and trusts them. She is not an easy client having decades of experience as an Intensive care nurse and then as a PA public employee involved with the certification of Nursing Homes. FirstLight has enabled her to realize her wishes- living out her twilight years in her childhood home.
Without FirstLight mom’s advanced age would have required us to put her in a nursing home, sell her home and drain her estate. With FirstLight, she gets the daily care she needs, including meals, bathing and other daily necessities, as well as the invaluable daily interaction and companionship that gives us the comfort of knowing she has someone there for her.
If you are looking for adult care for your senior, this organization operates with the utmost in integrity, somehow finds remarkably selfless aids who are truly angels and allows mom to age in place with the dignity and grace she has earned.
First rate company. The owner and his team of caregivers are completely invested in providing the best care. Mr. Tomasi visits our home periodically to ask if we have any questions or concerns. Everything is always taken care of no matter what it is. The aides are knowledgeable and skilled. They are very good at getting my parents to let others help them. That may not sound like much but older folks often don’t want to feel like a burden to others. So in their kind and gentle way, the First Light staffers always provide the best service and care and always get done what needs to be done. Meals are made on schedule, personal care gets taken care of every day. All good and I couldn’t be more pleased with this company.
First Light provided care for my father for the past few years. They came twice a week to help him with his personal care needs. It was very difficult for my father to give up his independence. First Light was great about scheduling the same aid to come to each visit. This allowed my father to form a special bond and get comfortable with his caregiver. The aid also assisted with light house work, and spent time socializing with my father. He grew to look forward to her visits. The owner of the company would personally introduce his aids. This was an added bonus and a great sign of respect. The lines of communication were always open. As my dads care needs increased, we worked on his new plan of care together to ensure that all his needs were met. In the end First Light was as much a support to myself and my husband as they were to my father. They provided 6 hours a day of respite care to my father and our family in my dad’s last weeks. I had a written schedule. I knew who was coming and when they would be there. Every staff member was professional and courteous. I am an oncology RN. I know good healthcare. Do not hesitate to use this company.
As a former employee of first light home care which Peter and Noeleen Tomasi run .It was one of the best run offices I have ever worked for. They truly care about their employees and work w them to accommodate their schedules..Never in over 2 yrs did I ever have a problem….that couldn’t be worked out. They went above and beyond. Firstlight did amazing helping a 93yr old Veteran. The owners are top notch and came out to personally greet and meet with him and to evaluate what his needs were. They are also great with scheduling and making sure to help accommodate. All of the employees are very professional.
From the first meeting with Peter and Noleen I was impressed. Ann and Rose Marie are adored by the whole family. Noleen works with my challenging schedule and the whole family is grateful for FirstLight and their staff that is a perfect fit in the family.
