We hired First Light for in home health caregivers for my mom with moderate dementia. First Light was the third company we used after the first two failed miserably. First Light was able to fill a sudden gap in care in three days. They had a larger pool of caregivers to draw from than other companies, which helped when we needed to change a caregiver. The schedulers were very responsive and the caregivers were nice. A note about dementia patients specifically – holistic care for dementia is a unique skill and personality and was hard to find in Beaufort with any agency. This was clear at the time and became clearer when my mom moved to a larger area with highly trained people in dementia care. First Light did it best of the three and kept mom safe while we kept her in her home.
Heather helped us with next-day and continuous care for my mom after a move to the Beaufort area. She was courteous, compassionate, and professional. Most importantly, she was reassuring. She coordinated care the next day with CC, who was very confident taking on a shower and some light unpacking with my mom. Alexia is now her more permanent caregiver and my parents are very pleased! We are confident in FirstLight’s abilities and commitment.

We had quite a few weeks of service for my father who had post-stroke effects for 4 years. We required services across all shifts, morning, afternoon, and overnight, and frequently had to switch things up due to doctor and hospital visits. FirstLight was first of all very compassionate from the first visit when the full range of services was explained and arranged. Heather was very flexible as we had to often cancel or rearrange services, and when FirstLight had to cancel or rearrange they gave notice and tried to backfill the services quickly. The most important part is the amount of compassion in the services – all of the providers demonstrated obvious care beyond the simple requirement of caregiving. We shared in dad’s care, in prayers, and even after he passed away FirstLight continued compassion with most caregivers reaching out to express condolences. Thank you!

Excellent home care service for my mom with dementia. The health workers that came by were very courteous and supportive to her wants and need. Never had any issues or problems and that’s a good sign with me. My mom also felt comfortable with them too and that’s the biggest reason to me. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.
I love working with this group!! Heather is a go to resource for this area, her and her team are on it at all times! I know when I’ve got someone in need to reach out to Heather for her help, she’s always willing to see how she can assist.
